CPS are proud to announce that our Technology Manager Ahmad Fleyfel has been selected as one of Engineers Australia<\/strong> 3 most innovative engineers in the field of Mining, Oil & Gas for 2017. Ahmad has won this honour for his work on distributed drive systems<\/strong> for conveyors in the bulk materials handling industry. \"\"<\/p>\n

Ahmad has engineered and managed the fabrication of a new style of conveyor drive<\/strong> that can be utilised to add power anywhere along the belt. This can be useful to clients to improve conveyor efficiency<\/strong>, manage complicated geography on overland conveyor designs and as a simple and cost-effective<\/strong> way to upgrade existing conveyors for a low capital cost.<\/p>\n

Engineers Australia reveals the most innovative engineers for 2017<\/p>\n

The flagship publication of Engineers Australia, create magazine, is profiling Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers in its July edition.
\nMore than 200 engineers either nominated themselves or were nominated by peers for inclusion in the list. These entries were examined by a panel of judges including:
\nBronwyn Evans, CEO, Standards Australia
\nJohn Immelman, former Managing Director, Endress+Hauser Australia
\nJohn Wilson, Executive Dean, Swinburne University of Technology
\nAlex Kingsbury, former Director of CSIRO’s additive manufacturing centre, Lab 22
\nIan Opperman, NSW Chief Data Scientist
\nJames Trevelyan, Professor, University of Western Australia<\/p>\n

Engineers Australia National President John McIntosh congratulated all the winners.
\n“Australian engineers are respected worldwide both for our ingenuity and persistence in making our solutions work,” he said. “We are the home, after all, of world-famous inventions such as WiFi and the black box flight recorder.”
\nHe was also pleased that a quarter of the finalists were female engineers. “Increasing the gender diversity of the engineering profession is crucial to our long-term sustainability,” McIntosh said.
