Meet Simone Gardner – Our Office Administrator for CPS Pulleys & CPS Fabrication

Question: What is your position/title at CPS?
Answer: I am the Office Administrator for CPS Pulleys & CPS Fabrication.
Question: How long have you been with the company?
Answer: I started at CPS in November of 2016, seven years ago.
Question: What does a typical day look like for you?
Answer: A typical day for me is never the same. Every day is different, which makes this job wonderful. I could come in and start off by ordering materials for the jobs that have just come in and then change to searching for grease for our machine. With every day being different, you can see the work in the factory making progress. This changes the look of the factory every day. You come in on a Monday and see the raw materials, but by Friday of the same week, you can see the change and progress from both Pulleys and Fabrication departments.
Question: What do you find most challenging and rewarding about the role?
Answer: The most challenging and rewarding part of my role would be when we have a large project with a tight deadline. This is when you’ll see the office team and factory personnel really pull together and work as one. The positive energy that flows through when this is happening is amazing. This is the most rewarding outcome and one of the main reasons why I love working for Conveyor Products and Solutions.
Question: Can you share a particular project you enjoyed working on, and how did it deliver value to the client?
Answer: The project that I enjoyed working on would be Talison Lithium Australia Pty Ltd phase 1. This project arrived when the workshop was already busy but helped the team to come together and find a solution to provide high-quality goods while at the same time keeping all the other clients happy and meeting the due dates. Since the client was pleased with the quality of the goods that were delivered, we were rewarded with phase 2.
Question: Tell us about life outside CPS. What do you enjoy doing?
Answer: I am a mother of two children, a 13-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy. I enjoy watching rugby, working on projects around the house, and cooking traditional South African food
