Queensland Coal case study

In 2018, one of the top 10 producing coal mines in Queensland producing over 8Mtpa had its existing rollers 100% converted to CPS Rollers to address the undesirable expenses due to failed rollers.
The performance and failure rates of the installed CPS rollers were monitored for 12 months and compared to previous rates, demonstrating a failure rate improvement from 16.10% to 0.41%. This equates to a reduction of roller failures from 739 down to just 19.
The site experienced an uplift in production of 900,000 tonnes across the observed period- at an average price of $101 per tonnes – which translates to a production uplift during this period of $90.9M.
Of this uplift, 750,000 tonnes were directly attributable to improved availability.
