Mechanical Fitters

Conveyor Products and Solutions, part of the Fenner Conveyors group, manufacture Australian-made high quality conveyor rollers, pulleys and associated bulk materials handling components.

About the role

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Pulley Division. The role is workshop based and will be primarily focused on the assembly of pulley components and the fitment of pulley bearings, experience with the installation of lagging would also be an advantage. 

This position will be based at the CPS Pulley Workshop located in Bassendean, working Monday to Friday with options for overtime.

• Monday to Friday Shifts: 6am – 2:30pm

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Assembly of Pulley Shafts, Shells and associated components.
• Mechanical fitting as required including strip and assessment.
• Liaise with Senior Supervisor to complete repair reports.
• General maintenance of workshop machinery.

Skills and experience

• Must have a relevant Trade Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter
• Have experience in a medium to heavy engineering workshop environment.
• Ideally, experience in fitting bearings with hydraulic nuts, locking elements, cylindrical roller bearings, drive couplings, lagging etc
• Ideally, hold a current Dogman and FLT licence.
• Be a qualified trades person with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
• Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Relevant experience in a similar role.
• General fitting skills for equipment rebuilding & maintenance.
• Creative mind that will be enthusiastic about working for an expanding business.
• Positive attitude and be able to demonstrate safe work practices at all times.
