23,982 Hollow Shaft Rollers!

Posted at June 18, 2026

With our relentless pursuit for innovation, CPS has developed our hollow shaft offering—in an effort to further reduce roller weight across all rollers in our range.

In 2020 the CPS team developed a hollow shaft design for our static shafts in order to further reduce weight across all CPS rollers. CPS manufactured a total of 23,982 Hollow Shaft rollers in that same year. In the years since they have remained popular with CPS generally producing on average over 10,000 Hollow Shaft rollers per annum.

By applying the same philosophy employed in rotating shafts, CPS also used this to reduce mass whilst achieving the same stiffness at the bearings in our static shafts. As such, roller weight can be reduced by an extra 25% above and beyond existing weight reductions without diminishing functionality and performance. When applied to some of our already lightweight roller designs the cumulative weight savings can combine to up to 60% lighter than traditional steel rollers.
